Below see a photo of Southern California Harvey Girls and their benefactress, Pauline Kroll, who donated $100,000 (not a typo) for a permanent HG display in the new Orange Empire Railway Museum library and research center building in Perris (outside of LA, closest original FH location: San Bernadino.) With this kind of funding, this could quickly become the U.S. center for all-things-Harvey-Girl. It would be amazing to do a national registry of all living HGs and descendants of original HGs, census research to get lists of who worked where when, a complete history of HG costumes, 24-hour a day showings of the Harvey Girls movie and, of course the Appetite for America bookstore!
